After the celebratory feast had concluded, and the nobles had eaten and drunk to their satisfaction, the gathered aristocrats began to bid their farewells and set off on their journeys home.
“Ari,” I heard Mom’s voice, and Max and I quickly stood up as we saw my parents coming toward us, with Dad holding Mom’s waist.
“Mom, Dad, you should’ve waited for us to go to you,” I slightly complained because, as the younger generations, we should be the ones going to them to bid our goodbyes.
“Oh, pish posh,” Mom waved her hand. “You haven’t finished your drinks yet.”
