Glasses clinked as the night approached,a crowd of well-dressed strangers were scattered around doing random things. I stood near the edge of the terrace, my heart already racing as I felt Kai’s presence behind me.

He had brought me here on purpose. A semi-public place where anyone could look over and see us if they paid close enough attention. The thought made my skin flush hot.
