SAMIEN'S POV
My nose caught his scent right in time. I squeezed the paper, hiding it just before he breezed in.
He stared at me, then at the guard. “Is something wrong?”
“Wrong? No! Why do you think so?* I held a straight face, gaze locked on him.
He scoffed, drawing closer until only inches separated us. “Are you sure?”
“Yes I am, dad. Nothing’s wrong.”
His countenance screamed doubt, but he kept mute, dragging himself out of the room.
The door slammed behind him. I sighed, relieved.
I wasn't sure how he'd have reacted to the letter, especially with the issues still on ground.
Good thing he didn't see...
