Selene’s POV
“Thank you,” I muttered, taking the coin from Caius and turning toward Chris.
“Hey,” I said, smiling as I waved.
He walked over, his gaze briefly flicking toward Director Caius, who was already walking away without a word.
“I’m ready. Let’s go,” I said quickly, urging him along.
He nodded, and we headed out in the company van, driving straight to the airport.
We arrived thirty minutes early. A crowd of reporters had already gathered, buzzing like bees, checking their watches and phones. Everyone was restless under the burning sun, but no one moved an inch.
Exactly on time, a plane descended in the sky.
