Caius' POV

“My Alpha,” Raymond, my beta, bowed as he walked into my study. I gave him a nod, and he stepped closer, leaning in to whisper something in my ear.

“Keep a close watch on Selene’s grandmother,” I ordered sharply, then turned and strode out of the study.

The next morning, I left for work.

Selene was already there. As I walked past her desk, our eyes met briefly.

I entered my office.

Moments later, she followed me in, her fingers fidgeting nervously.

“Thank you very much for yesterday,” she said softly.

I said nothing, simply sank into my seat, watching her intently.

She hesitated, then fell silent....
