Caius’s POV

“I know what you are.” Chris whispered.

I squeezed the coffee cup in my hand tightly, my gaze locked on him. A slow smirk tugged at my lips.

“What are you saying, Chris?” I asked with an innocent expression.

“Don’t play dumb with me. I know what kind of snarling beast you are.” He pointed at me. “And don’t think I’m scared of you. Wolfsbane, silver—I have them all, and I’ll fucking burn your fur before you dare show me your teeth.”

“Wow, you talk too much for a human,” I replied coolly. “If only you used that courage, maybe you would have gotten Selene.”
