I didn’t go to work for an entire week. Grandma had back-to-back checkups, and I had to stay with her through all of them.

Director Caius showed up at our door unexpectedly. He wanted to thank Grandma, then politely asked for her permission to let me help him.

Grandma didn’t hesitate before throwing me out with him.

I scoffed under my breath. She’s really petty.

My stomach growled.

Grandma even handed him food, dished mine as well, then slammed the door in my face, saying I wasn’t allowed back inside until sunset.
