THIRD PERSON’S POV

The following day, Dr. Aldrich sat alone at the edge of the large dining table after checking on Leylla. Well, he had actually spent yet another night beside her, the machines' sounds acting like a lullaby to him. That room had become his everything ever since he brought her there.

At the moment, his laptop was open in front of him. The morning sun shone through the temporary house's glass walls, spreading warm golden shadows over the floor. The room was still, save for the faint hum of the equipment and the odd click of his mouse.

He cautiously looked through a website that advertised luxury beach...
