“You know nothing about me and Alex, Adam Black,” Isabella said with gritted teeth, she was trying to control her anger suppressing the urge to kill him. In one day Adam Back had succeeded in destroying her usual calm aura.

Adam laughed and said. “Oh, I know honey, I have been observing you both since the day I signed the deal and know that you are both not compatible. And besides, I have heard a lot of things from my mother, who never fails to put a word or two about you in my ears. You have hooked my mother around your fingers, Isabella.”

Isabella was shocked and regretted having close contact with his mother. But his mother was different from him. She is a very friendly and humble woman so she had talked with her to her heart's content when they had met a few times on different occasions. She was feeling guilty now.

But hold on a second what is she thinking, why would it matter even if she told everything about herself to Mrs Black, it was just a mere conversation. Why was she feeling guilty? With that, she looked straight into his eyes and said. “Whatever I speak to your mother is none of your business and besides I like your mother she is not like you, arrogant. And please stop interfering in my life unnecessarily because now I am engaged and I do not cause any trouble between you and Alex.”

“Do you think I care? I want you and I am going to make sure you are all mine, whether you like it or not. Now let’s forget what happened a few minutes back and talk about what I want from you.” He said seductively.

“I don't want to talk about anything!” She exclaimed. He was enough does he think he is a king and has all the right to say anything to anyone? She had enough nonsense conversation with him and was feeling giddy all over. “I am leaving I just want to go home."

Just as she was about to walk away from her he pulled her and held her arms, then turned her gently towards him. She saw him smiling. And his eyes were full of Warmth, Isabella for a moment forgot everything she wanted to say. And she was feeling dizzier but thankfully he had his arms around her or she would definitely fall.

She held his coat just to support herself and felt his arms evolve around her firmly. She did not know why but she just wanted him to hold her. Just a few minutes back she was trying to run away from him but now looking at his eyes she felt drawn towards him.

Adam stared at her head resting on his shoulders and wondered if the scared kitten had finally surrendered. But he knew better, that she was drunk and couldn’t hold herself anymore.

He smiled wickedly and brushed his lips against her hair. Holding her more tightly. He wondered what would happen when she came to know his real intentions for her. She was definitely the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. Although he had met quite a few enchantresses, they were none like her. And from the first day since that they had met she had always drawn him more towards her.

He knew that she was not that naïve when it came to men but not that experienced when it came to them altogether. And oh yeah, he was far too aware to see the ring on her finger showing that she was engaged to Alex Waltz but he had never seen any attraction between them. They looked more like friends than a couple unless they were faking it for some reason. And this engagement happened all of a sudden.

His mother had a very bad habit of match-making him, and in that process, she even heard a lot of gossip and she made sure he heard the full details or she would not let him sleep. And she had also given him some ideas about Alex and Isabella.

In other words, his mother liked Isabella and was looking forward for him to approach her. Now that Alex and Isabella were engaged she would be really sad.

He had been attracted to Isabella from their first meeting and gradually the attraction had turned into obsessiveness. He had tried to fight it but he couldn’t control himself. But he was a man who liked to have flings and never went into a long-term relationship. And he knew Isabella was looking for security in Alex but he wanted her and desperately for how long, even he doesn’t know because Marriage was taboo for him after his parents’ divorce.

But he couldn’t control his feelings for her and today when he saw Alex’s ring on his finger he was enraged and wanted to teach her a lesson for climbing on a money tree. So he decided to take a risk and make her his. After all, he had already taken many risks in his life or he wouldn’t have reached where he is. And if she wanted money, he had it, plenty.

He wanted to wait and see how their engagement progressed but in the meantime try his tricks. He smiled at his thoughts and hugged her tightly.

“It’s hurting,” Isabella murmured and she felt his arms tighten around her.

“All right I am taking you back. Don’t drink too much, when you can’t handle it.” He scolded her and holding her walked out of the washroom making sure no one was around.

But just as they came out of the washroom and headed towards the place where Alex and Neely were seated, they heard someone calling her name.

“Bella, where were you?” Alex said with concern. And when he saw Adam holding her, he was shocked. “Adam, what happened? Why are you holding her? Is she okay?”

“She was about to fall near the washroom. I think she had plenty of wine and is feeling dizzy.” He explained.

Isabella listened to his explanation and then whispered. “Alex take me home. I am feeling very dizzy.”

“Alright, let’s go home,” Alex said and drew her into his arms. He was well aware that she was having those weak moments and wanted to be alone.

“Adam I'm so sorry to trouble you. Are you here for dinner as well?”

“Yes, I am here with the mayor. And don’t worry it's not trouble. I just happened to come out of the washroom and saw her.” Adam lied and Isabella was stunned.

Alex looked at Adam and said. “Adam if you are done with your dinner, could you please drop Neely home.” Alex requested him. “It’s late and I don’t want her driving all alone.” He said swiftly when he saw Neely opening her mouth to deny his suggestion.

“Okay, Alex. I will do that. I will just say my goodbyes to the mayor and his wife and leave.” Adam said.

Looking at Isabella at the same time. He wanted to drop her home but he couldn’t. He clenched his fists tightly.

He gestured for Neely to follow him when he saw Nick moving out with Isabella in his arms.

Neely looked at him furiously before she followed him.
