Another stressful day came and passed by. Juliana as usual laid on the couch looking pale and like she was going to fall apart if she made any sudden movements. That was until Mercy came in squealing like a little girl.
Juliana groaned, slowly covering her ears with her palm. "Could you keep quiet?.. some of us actually have had a very hard day!."
"Oh come on.. loose some strings Juliana I actually have good news for you.."
"If it's a ticket for a week of non-disturbed sleep, I'd really appreciate it.." Juliana muttered, her eyes still closed shut.
"Sorry, but unfortunately it's not.. actually it's my due rent." Mercy smiled, holding an envelope up in the air.
Juliana sprung up immediately, taking the money away from Mercy. "Finally I was starting to think you would not be–" Juliana paused for a few seconds.
"What's this?" She asked as she checked the envelope in complete shock. There was more money in the envelope than there was supposed to be. Juliana wasn't surprised, but then she was still shocked.
She knew Mercy was from one of the richest families in New York City but all she knew was that Mercy left home because of a personal matter with her father. She didn't say more than that and Juliana respected that, so she didn't ask anymore questions.
"Well.. that's my rent for the next five months!." Mercy squealed, clapping her hands.
"Wait what?!." Juliana was confused.
"Look.." Mercy sighed, she sat down beside Juliana who had her mouth wide open. "I know how hard you've been working to get enough money for your mother's treatment. And I also know she's been there for almost a year and I just want to help even though it isn't much, I don't want to see you overstressing yourself.. which you have been doing for a while now." Mercy said as she held Juliana's hand.
"I mean you almost look like a zombie." Juliana laughed at the last word. Mercy was right; she hardly got enough sleep since her mother entered the hospital, and she almost looked like the walking dead with little dark circles under her eyes.
"I know it isn't much but–
"What do you mean this isn't much?" Juliana interrupted. "This is almost enough to transfer my Mom to another country for the treatment.." she said, tears trailed down her cheeks in seconds.
Holding the envelope close to her chest she muttered. "You don't know what exactly you've done for me Mercy.. this is going to be of great use to me and Mom.."
"Oh come here.." Mercy smiled, drawing Juliana in for a hug. "Your my friend, of course I'd help you.. plus when the months are over I'll be sending you the money for the house to your bank account, so that you would still be able to pay for some hospital bills." She said pulling away.
"You know how expensive things could get in another country.."
"Thank you so much.. i-i never really expected this from you..''
"Me?.."
"Oh come on Mercy, you know what I mean.." Juliana laughed at Mercy joining her.
"Still.. it's because of you I'll be able to get my mother's treatment going, and by next week we might already be out of the country.." Juliana smiled.
"Friends help each other out.. and that's exactly what I did, so there's no need to stress over it.." Mercy smiled back.

ULTIMO DESIDERIO DI CASCO
(The Last Wish NightClub)
Music was blasting through the air as hot sweaty bodies grinded against each other.
In the VIP section seated was Francis and Valentino.
They were out of the city, which was a routine since Roxanne's accident.
Francis came to release stress and forget about what happened even if it was just for a little while. And for Valentino, he followed for a whole different reason.
"You know?.." Francis said, breaking the thick silence that was between them. "You're a really good friend, even though I act like a big jack ass sometimes, you're still here, with me.. and with Roxanne's accident I'm just really happy you were by my side, I would not want anyone else.." Francis muttered.
His voice was so low that if you didn't listen carefully to him you'd probably miss what he said. Valentino heard what his friend said, he heard it very clearly.
He was obviously drunk.
"Is the great Francis de'Medici actually showing some gratitude?.." Valentino mocked, sarcasm clearing in his voice.
"Don't get used to it.." Francis said taking a gulp of his branded whisky. Valentino laughed, shaking his head. "You'll never change, and I've learned to accept that."
"Good to know.." Francis answered.
"Anyway, how was the meeting today?.." Valentino asked. "Nothing much, those incompetent morons were just testing my patients." Francis muttered.
"What do you mean?..what happened?"
"Dad's giving up his shares in the company to me.. but it's kind of difficult since the investors want to buy his shares.."
"You're his son though, can't he just like.. give it to you?" Valentino asked.
"That's the point.. he can only give me those shares on a condition.."
"And what's the condition?.."
"Well, I have to get an heir.." Francis mumbled.
"What?!." Valentino yelled. "Your father can't do that!.."
"Well he did.."
"Can't he like change his mind or something?!." Valentino asked. "Already tried that.. before he traveled to Abu Dhabi we had a talk and he said that he can't do anything about it, it was already a signed contract and that he couldn't change his mind even if he wanted to.."
"We both know he'll never want to".
"Well that's just a different level of cruelty.. well if that's the case can't you get someone to hold your baby for you like a surrogate mother or something?.."
"Already checked that today.. and my lawyers couldn't find a way around it.. a surrogate mother wouldn't even be accepted, I'd have to get married then have an heir.." Francis hissed.
"Why would your old man come up with something like that though?.."
"I don't know, something about wanting to have grandkids before he goes to heaven to meet my mother and some other shits like that." Francis said it was itching his temple.
