Once inside the car, I shed my confidence. I had only shown it before so that Ari wouldn’t worry.

In truth, my mood was tense and uneasy.

“Dad, what’s your plan next?” I asked him who was sitting next to me leisurely with a relaxed look on his face.

He was looking at a worn book and said, “Try to relax, my daughter, and when we reach the border, don’t reveal that we are there to investigate Dagon’s hideout.”

I rolled my eyes at him.

Of course, I knew not to reveal our purpose of going there, or we wouldn’t be going there secretly with him...
