The look on Alpha Xander’s face almost knocked me off my feet. I maintained my stance and searched for an honest answer to his question.

“I… we… I’m sure there must be a mistake made somewhere,” I rapped out.

Xander didn’t buy that, he was determined to probe deeper into this.

“You knew about this, didn’t you?” He said in a hoarse voice.

I snapped my head up and shook my head vigorously in a negative response.

“You don’t?” He scoffed and took a few steps towards me.

I wanted to step back but my frozen feet wouldn’t bulge, it felt like my body was paralyzed.
