I waited patiently for her to say something… to explain to me what really happened, but she didn't–she couldn't even utter a word to defend herself.
I was having my doubts about her earlier, but now I had every reason to believe she was really guilty of all the allegations levied against her.
At this point, I saw no need to pester her any further. If she couldn't defend herself, then she might as well have a hand in the patient's death. But what I didn't quite understand was why she would ever indulge in such.
