That morning, the air in the hospital felt colder than usual. The ICU corridor was still quiet, with only the occasional sound of nurses’ footsteps passing by. Giselle stepped out of the elevator with a weary face, yet her eyes held a hope that had never faded. Her doctor’s coat hung neatly over her arm, her hair tied simply.
