Chapter 6 It has to be a baby boy

Chapter 6 It has to be a baby boy

Callox stormed back to his chambers after a very fruitless day with his men; they seemed to be getting weaker by the day. It was a lapse he couldn't afford. After doubling the training time, he decided to get some paperwork done to relieve his mind of the current problem at hand.

"Alpha," he turned to see Del running towards him. He raised a brow and urged her to speak.

She paused, catching her breath before smiling through her pants. "Not even a hello?"

"If you have something to say, do tell, or I'll cut your tongue off," he threatened coldly.

Her smile vanished, replaced by a deep frown on her face.

"So, are you going to speak now?" he asked with boredom, leaning against the wall.

She took a deep breath. "I found her. She is Anaiah of—"

Del paused, looking wary about continuing. A subtle growl escaped him, urging her to speak.

"Hallow Pack," she finished.

"Fuck!" he cursed. A familiar rage filled his being at the mention of the name. Hallow Pack, led by the infamous Alpha Jaden. For years, he had avoided Hallow Pack like a plague, but if his one-night girl was truly from that pack, he would do everything he could to take her away from there.

"Before you start plotting those hideous plans, know for certain that she is the legitimate daughter of Alpha Jaden," Del added.

She paused. "But from what I gathered, he doesn't want her."

This can't be happening. Why can't the moon goddess be kind to him for once and give him what his heart desires? Contending with Alpha Jaden was like contending with a child who had no control over his emotions.

"Is anything wrong, Alpha?" Del asked.

"No. Thank you for the intel; you may leave," he said calmly.

She nodded and scurried off, leaving him to his thoughts. Alpha Jaden was an enemy as far as he was concerned. And now, his daughter had become the object of his fantasy.

Callox was a True Alpha, one that hadn't been heard of in generations. Alphas like Jaden hated him and loved to pick on him when he first became Alpha, but after a few hit backs from him, they learned never to cross him again.

But Jaden, being himself, fixed the death of one of his men whom he sent to spy on Callox. Ever since then, they had been at loggerheads, a thorn in each other's flesh.

'I need her,' his wolf cried in his head as memories from that night rushed through his mind. Blood rushed straight to his groin, a groan escaping him at the view of her succulent and perfect body, spread out for his devouring.

He had to get her. He was not just a True Alpha by title; he had proven himself in many ways. Whatever he wanted, he got. No one dared to cross him or stop him from getting what he desired. And Jaden wouldn't be the first. He would either give him his daughter, or they would go to war, and obviously, he knew it wouldn't take Callox anything to crush that pack.

"Alpha?" Del poked her head in, a troubled look on her face.

"What do you want?" he snapped.

"I forgot to put a little bit of information about Anaiah... she is pregnant."

Pregnant. The word echoed in his mind as his blood became cold, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Pregnant? How sure are you?"

"It was confirmed by the pack's doctor," Del insisted.

"And did you know that?" he queried.

"I have my sources, Alpha." She smirked slyly.

He cursed under his breath. There was every probability that the seed in her womb was his. The thought of that alone filled him with the determination to claim what was his.

What if it isn't yours? a question rose in his subconscious. At this stage, he didn't care if it was his or not. He wanted Anaiah, and he would get her from her father. With a clear track record of getting what he wanted, through violence or negotiations, he was certain Alpha Jaden wouldn't have a choice but to hand his daughter over to him.

She was his mate, and he knew deep in his core that the child she carried was his. The moon goddess must be so kind to him, not only blessing him with a mate but with his heir. Both great things offered to him on a platter of gold.

"Get our men ready; we are going to pay Alpha Jaden a visit," he commanded. But Del didn't move. She stared at him like he had grown horns.

The audacity she had these days…

"Didn't you hear me, or do you want me to repeat myself?!" he growled, jaw ticking and fist clenched.

She took a step back in fear but raised her chin. boldly, staring him straight in the eye.

"Right, I know you're Alpha and the ruler of the pack, but this is our pack, Callox. The look in your eyes clearly spells war, and we both don't want to suffer any more casualties."

"I wish for no war, Del," he corrected, his gaze softening at the distant look in her eyes. "I just want to take what's mine."

She nodded before sprinting off to get his men ready.

He returned to his office with a smirk on his face. There was a part he didn't tell Del, because he was certain she'd freak out. If Jaden dared to stop him from having his mate and his son, he would make sure he didn't live to see his grandson.

'What if it isn't a boy, like you want it to be?'

"It has to be a boy," he said, his voice echoing through his office. "I won't accept anything else.”
