“He’s here,” he replied and pointed as a car engine revved in the distance.
“Thank goodness,” I said and started walking toward the sound. Cole followed closely, watching me intently.
“Do you… I don’t know, do you want me to carry you so it’s easier?” he asked in a panicked tone as he matched my pace.
I started to say something, then stopped for a quick second to glance at him and scoffed. “Don’t touch me, Cole. It’s terrible enough that you’re the only help I can get right now.”
