As I dialed the number, I turned on my speaker.

“It's ringing.” We both confirmed.

And so we waited, hoping it'll go through.

It did, halfway, by ringing. Things can only be complete when the call is taken. When?

“Hello, there. This is Rose.”

“Ah, hello, Rose. Almost thought it was the wrong number you gave to me.”

“Huh?” She sounded confused. “Who is this?”
