Eleanor’s POV~
My dad swept an appreciative gaze across the designs on the walls, the decor and the stack of gifts on the table. His gaze went to the multi tiered birthday cake. Walking towards it, he shoved his finger into it and retracted it, putting it in his mouth to taste the icing.
Smiling, he nodded and said, “This is savory. What a nice cake!”
Rita trailed behind him as he flew his gaze across every design, overwhelmed in the grandeur. His smile faltered at the noticeable absence.
What’s the use of designs, cake and meals when there’s no family or friends to celebrate with?
