**Divorce!!**
**LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA…**
Emily’s Point of View~
As I walked out of the hospital, a smile spread across my lips. It felt unreal. I could still hear the doctor’s words echoing in my mind, confirming that I was indeed pregnant. I looked at the report once more, my mouth tightening to contain the screams of excitement bubbling within me.
For the last four years, my marriage to Logan had been devoid of affection. Perhaps this news would bring love back into our relationship. Maybe Logan would finally see me differently now that I was pregnant.
“Logan!” I chirped excitedly as I walked into the sitting room, a bright smile lighting up my face.
He was home early—I hadn’t expected to see him at this hour.
My heart began to race, then suddenly faltered when I noticed the unimpressed, stony look on his face. Something was wrong. I assumed his anger stemmed from work-related stress.
Forcing a smile, I began, “Lo—”
“Here. We’re getting a divorce, Emily.”
His cold voice cut me off as he handed me a crisp white document with the bold inscription **‘DIVORCE’** printed across it.
His eyes were distant and indifferent, making my heart crumple like paper. I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. Every breath felt like a dagger piercing my chest. His words were clear, yet my mind struggled to comprehend them.
Narrowing my eyes in confusion, I asked, “Wh–what’s this, Logan?”
“Don’t tell me you don’t understand what those papers are for. Must I spell it out for you?” he snapped, his piercing gaze sending chills down my spine.
His words echoed in my mind, sending shockwaves through my body.
I stood frozen, my eyes widening as disbelief and confusion overwhelmed me.
Snatching the papers from his hand, I scanned through them quickly and noticed his signature already at the bottom—leaving a blank space for mine.
“Divorce papers?” I whispered, trying to steady myself as I lifted my gaze to meet his emotionless emerald eyes.
He pulled out a pen from his pocket and tossed it toward me.
“Sign the divorce papers and let’s put this behind us. Hurry up before Vivian returns.”
His words dropped like acid, each one more painful than the last.
My jaw fell open as my heart skipped violently.
*Is he leaving me for Vivian? After everything I’ve done for him?*
My lips trembled. My mind went blank. Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision.
“W-why, Logan?” I stammered weakly. “What have I done to deserve this?”
My voice betrayed me as it cracked, the pain gnawing at my chest.
“For months, I’ve tried to be the perfect wife. I sacrificed my own opportunities because of you and the responsibilities of this marriage.
“I adapted to be the ideal daughter-in-law—meeting your standards, doing everything I could to make you and your family happy. After giving up all my dreams for you… what do I get in return? Divorce?”
I spoke through my tears, staring at him in disbelief as they streamed endlessly down my face.
But Logan remained unmoved.
Not a single word softened him.
Instead, he said coldly, “Emily, I need to be honest—I’ve never loved you. My late grandfather thought you were the perfect match because you once saved him. That’s the only reason I married you.
“I can’t continue in a loveless marriage. How long do you expect me to keep you in my life?
“Vivian has always been my true love, but she had to leave for her studies in Australia. Now she’s back… and you’re free to leave. I have no intention of continuing this marriage.”
My knees gave out, and I collapsed to the floor.
I had planned to surprise him with the news of my pregnancy—never imagining he would instead hand me divorce papers.
Although our marriage had been arranged by his late grandfather, Mr. Gerald, I had grown to love Logan deeply. Even without his affection, my feelings for him only grew stronger.
Swallowing hard, I forced out, “You used me… like a naïve pawn. And now that you’re done, you want to throw me away.”
“What games, Emily?” he snapped. “You can’t expect me to keep you forever. Forget those vows—I made them out of obligation. They mean nothing.
“I’ve never loved you, and you’re never going to win my heart.”
His words pierced straight through me, confirming my worst fears. Silence filled the room, heavy and suffocating.
“But Logan, I am pre—”
His phone suddenly rang, cutting me off mid-sentence.
He answered immediately, a smile tugging at his lips.
“Are you at the airport, Vivian?” he asked gently—his tone completely different from how he had spoken to me.
“I’ll come pick you up right away. Wait for me, okay?”
After ending the call, he slipped his phone back into his pocket and looked at me again.
“Sign it and leave before I get back. I don’t want to see you here.”
His voice was cold, emotionless—tearing me apart.
Through tear-blurred eyes, I watched him walk out and slam the door behind him.
My gaze dropped to the report in my hands, now stained with tears. Clutching my stomach, I broke down completely, my sobs echoing through the empty house.
---
Hours later, the television caught my attention.
**BREAKING NEWS:** *CEO Logan Michaelson and top model Vivian Daves were spotted together at the Marina Hotel in Brazzaville. Rumors suggest the longtime lovers may have rekindled their relationship. What do you think?*
My heart shattered all over again.
Of course the headlines would revolve around them—they were both prominent figures.
I looked down at the pregnancy report in one hand and the divorce papers in the other.
My world had completely fallen apart.
---
All day, I waited for Logan to come home.
I cooked for him, hoping he would return, but he never did.
Later, the sound of the door opening startled me. Thinking it was Logan, I rushed out—only to freeze at the sight before me.
A blonde-haired woman stood there, her artificial lashes thick, her lips painted a deep crimson. Her expensive perfume filled the room as her outfit clung perfectly to her curves.
Her heels clicked sharply against the tiles as she chewed gum lazily, scanning the house with satisfaction.
Then her gaze fell on me—and instantly hardened.
“I thought Logan had thrown you out already. Why are you still here, you bitch?” she sneered.
“I haven’t signed the papers yet. I’m still Logan’s wife,” I replied firmly.
“Oh?” she scoffed. “Let’s see who the real wife is after I throw all your filthy things out.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” I shot back, holding back my tears.
She smirked. “You’re bold… and stupid. I’ll teach you a lesson.”
She shoved past me, bumping my shoulder hard enough to make me stagger.
Before I could react, she stormed into my room and began throwing my clothes out the window.
“Stop it, Vivian!” I yelled, rushing after her. “You may have Logan’s heart, but you have no right to disrespect me!”
She turned, her smile dripping with mockery.
“Respect? From me?” she laughed. “You must be dreaming.”
Before I could react, she shoved me hard.
I hit the ground, pain shooting through my body.
Then I saw it.
Blood.
My eyes widened in horror as it stained my thighs.
Suddenly, footsteps approached.
Vivian immediately dropped to the floor, clutching herself and pretending to be in pain.
“What’s going on?” Logan’s voice rang out as he rushed in.
His eyes darted between us—concern for her, disgust for me.
He ran to Vivian, gently helping her up.
“Logan!” she cried. “She pushed me! She almost killed me! And now she’s pretending to be the victim. I don’t want to see her again—who knows what she might do next!”
Her words pierced through me, but all I could focus on was the blood.
“How could you do that to Vivian?” Logan snapped. “What else would you have done if I hadn’t come in? I told you to leave—why are you still here?!”
His glare cut into me like knives.
“Guards!” he barked. “Throw her out. Call the maids and have them pack her things immediately!”
As the maids rushed in to gather my belongings, two guards grabbed me and dragged me toward the door.
I felt the warm trickle of blood running down my thighs.
And all I could think about… was my child.
