Dawn crept in through the curtains, casting a pale light across the room. The night had passed slowly, each minute dragging on like eternity and I'm glad it's finally a new day. A special day at that!

My face flushed in excitement because it's children’s day and I've planned to make this day a memorable one for Carl.

I had plans to take him on a trip to Disneyland. He's been dying to go there.
