After the meeting, I finally got to speak with Emerald. She told me why she phoned earlier. She wanted to remind me of a shipment I had purchased from McDonald's. I provided a satisfactory explanation and apologies for missing her calls, and I am delighted she understood without suspicion.

My chest constricted as I felt a pang of guilt surge in me. I feel bad for not informing her about my past with Cecile and my involvement in the Mafia.
