Lorenzo's words echoed in her ears, friendly but firm. She knew he was trying to make her free around him since he could see how uncomfortable she was.. Emerald stole a glance at the other customers in the café who were either eating, chuckling or chatting.

The chandeliers dangling from the ceiling, cast a warm glow on everyone's faces. The atmosphere was inviting and less tense but Emily could feel a certain weight gnawing at her chest.

The weight of the decision she had made coming to see Lorenzo. Now, all she hoped for was that her decision to see him was worth it.
