I focused on my shadow walker abilities and tried to tear open a hole to the Shadow Realm.

Reality cracked like glass, and a dark portal opened in front of us.

"Impressive," Viktor said.

We jumped through just as the guards rounded the corner.

We landed in the Shadow Realm Library. The Librarian was waiting for us, as if she had known we were coming.

"So," she said, looking at Viktor. "You want to steal a curse."

"I want to make a trade," Viktor corrected.

"Same thing," the Librarian said. "Do you understand what you're asking for?"

"Complete understanding," Viktor said confidently.

"No, you don't," the Librarian said....
