"How long will we have to stay there?" I asked.

Luna looked down at Gabriel, who was now sleeping peacefully in her arms.

"Until Gabriel is old enough to defend himself," she said. "And until we can gather enough allies to stand against the Council permanently."

"That could take years," Nick said.

"Yes," Luna agreed. "It could. But it's the only way to keep Gabriel safe and free."
