Katherine's POV:

"Of course not!" I clarified. "Nothing has happened between us, Lucia."

"Oh really?" she said, her tone laced with disbelief. "Then how come you two were together all last night?"

Thinking about last night reminded me of Cameron’s back as he walked away from me, and my mood soured.

I filled Lucia in on what happened and as I expected, she was shocked.

"How are you holding up?" she asked with genuine concern. "Are you still at the hospital? Which one? I can come visit you!"

"No need. I've been discharged."

Lucia fell silent for a moment before suddenly apologizing, "Katherine, I'm so sorry."
