Elise stirred, her body adjusting to the presence by her side. Warmth radiated all about her, coupled with the minor sores that ran from her thighs to her limbs.

Slowly, her eyes opened and as she stared into the space in front of her, it became more clear to her that Alejandro’s arm was draped over her.
