Chapter 6 Six

Chapter 6 Six

When everyone in the hotel started stairing at Alpha Rasmore after his wolf howled and calling the foreigner "mate," he rushed out of the hotel.

"Quickly, take me to the Blind Forest." He urged his assistant, letting him take the lead. He was not mistaken. That foreign girl was his mate. But how? He had really tried hard to keep himself from following her. Her lemon-like natural scent made his nose twitch. His wolf wanted to be let out to mark her.

Her scent burned him, awakening a sudden desire in the pit of his stomach. It's been so long since he's gotten to smell that scent. A scent that calmed him down whenever he was angry. A scent that took his breath away. What he couldn't understand was how he could possibly have two mates and both alive.

He knew of the fact that goddesses gave second time mates to people after their real partners pass away. Did that mean Karen Milburn was dead? "No, no, she isn't." "You are just overthinking." "Calm down, Alpha Rasmore, calm down." He inhaled deeply calming himself.

"Rasmore, what happened in there?" His assistant asked. He knew the news would spread all over the pack like wildfire in just a second that the Alpha had gotten himself a second mate. Everyone knew Karen Milburn was his mate, but she was no more.

He knew that everyone, including his own parents, would be joyful about the fact that their son could finally get a second mate. They always wished to get gradkids.

Everyone in the pack despised Karen Milburn. They had known her as a bitch who slept with her husband's soldier and got herself pregnant. After the video of her shagging another man was brought to Alpha Rasmore, he instructed that it should be played in every part of the pack so that people would see how shameless and bitchy their Luna was. Even though Alpha Rasmore had already found enough evidence to prove that all he had done in the past was a mistake, he was yet to clear her name.

And like the assistant expected, he started receiving phone calls.

"Alpha Cameron wants to know if the news are true. What do I tell him?" He asked. Alpha Cameroon was Rasmore's father. Even though he had retired, he was still addressed as Apha. He helped his son solve the pack's problems, and he sometimes accompanied them to war. He was the best male fighter in the pack. Rasmore was nothing to his dad when it came to fighting.

"Don't tell him anything. "Tell him that I'll be seeing him in the evening," he said.

When they reached their destination, Alpha Rasmore stood at the forest's gates and inhaled. "There are four different scents here." "Two are familiar, and the other two are new." He told his asisstant and then said, "Which type of dragon was here?" "Burning half of this forest in just a minute?" He excalimed. The Blind Forest was the largest forest in the whole world. People from different packs always payed a visit to his pack just to see the legendary forest. The dragon that evaded it must be from a royal dynasty. Royal dragons possessed such powers.

Even though the dragon issue was supposed to be taken seriously, Alpha Rasmore's mind was fixed on that particular scent, which relaxed his muscles and took away all his worries.

"Tell me, what scents do you perceive?" He asked his assistant.

"Lemon, pepper, wood, and rain," he said, sniffing around.

"Good." He shook his head and said, "I wonder what these foreigners were doing here? They should know something about the dragon too. We will have them interrogated." He said.

"But Rasmore, how do you know these are their scents?" And why would they be related to the dragon? "We both know that werewolves and dragons are supposed to be enemies." The assistant voiced his doubt.

"The lemon scent belongs to that Maris Kate's girl; the rain scent belongs to Harriet; she is Karen's best friend, and I've been to her house three times." He cleared his throat and continued, "Earlier, when I went to greet those three foreigners, I had perceived faint pepper scent from the guy with the high ponytail. That was when he stood to shake my hand, and when they left, the ginger-haired guys scent wafted on my nose; it was woody." He inhaled deeply.

His assistant turned to him, his eyes beaming with excitement and pride. "No wonder he is chosen as the apha," he thought. He had met the foreigners for barely even a minute, but he had already mastered their scents. He was indignantly sharp.

Clearing his throat, he asked, "Alpha Rasmore, you said about Harriet's scent; what would she be doing here with the foreigners?"

"She is the one who takes care of this lodge. She must have brought them here to take a look at it. In fact, do this, send her to my office in the evening. I would like to ask her if she has noticed anything unusual with the foreigners. She should know about the dragon issue if it's related to them." He instructed and turned to leave.

"Alpha Rasmore," his assistant called, "I think this issue is getting serious." He said worriedly.

"Why do you think so?" He asked his assistant, who had furrowed his brows.

"If this dragon is related to the foreigners, then that Maris Kate's girl is not your second time mate as you think." These three foreigners must be spies or our enemies. They came prepared since they already have Kate with them. She would keep you occupied with the thought that she is your mate and the other two will do whatever they came to do without your notice. And before you realize it, they will have you killed, or your parents, or even this pack, may find itself in their hands. It depends on what mission they are here for." He explained and Rasmore sunk of his own thoughts looking for a possibility if what his assistant had said could be true.

"What do you mean?" Alpha Rasmore asked.

"I think Maris Kates is your enemy in disguise as your second time mate." His assistant explained, and he nodded.

"I did a good thing by choosing you as my assistant, Hashmuk, even though the council didn't agree at that time, but I can now see I didn't make a mistake." "Thanks, buddy, for making me understand that." He patted his back.

"What are friends for?" Even though we quarreled in the past because I was against what you did to Karen, I've now forgotten everything. As I always say, let bygones be bygones. Just make sure that you won't repeat the same mistake again." He told him with a grin on his face.

They then retreated back to their car and drove back to the alpha's palace. The moment the car drove through the gates, he could see his parents waiting in the lobby for them. They had wide smiles across their faces.

"Rasmore, I thought you would bring your mate along with you." Her mother complained, kissing his cheeks.

"Mom, she is not my mate." "Those are just romours," he said.

"You won't lie to us, son." It's good that the goddess has brought another mate for you; it's now clear that good-for-nothing Karen Milburn is dead." His father spat angrily.

Alpha Rasmore gulped, wondering what they would do when they realized that Karen Milburn had been framed all that time. Only two people knew the truth—him and his assistant. He wanted to tell them, but again, he felt ashamed. What will he tell people about the twins he burned? After all, he had done that act in front of everyone. What of Karen's parents? Everyone knew he burned them alive too after rumors that they had helped Karen escape spread towards the pack.

"She was the most shameless Luna I'd ever seen." Let's pray that your second time Luna doesn't turn out to be like her. "Oh, my son, if that happens, I will start believing your fate was jinxed when you were born." His mother said, dragging him inside the mansion.

"Tell me, what does she look like?" His younger sister, Belinda, asked.

"Belinda, she is not my mate." He said. Chuckling, he pinched her chubby cheeks playful when she frowned pouting her lips.

"Son, I advise you to stop saying that." The media is everywhere, and before you know it, news will reach her that you have rejected her. "What will you do? Huh? Will she be able to forgive you?" his mother asked.

"Mom, dad, you have all heard about the blind forest being burned last night, didn't you?" He asked, and they nodded.

"I think it's related to the three foreigners who came here." You should also know that Maris Kates is one of those foreigners." He spoke, and his father interrupted.

"Who is that Maris Kates?" And what about the dragons? "We want to hear about your second time mate, son." He insisted.

"Dad, they are related." Maris Kates is my rumored second-time mate. What I want to say is that she is not my mate but rather an enemy in disguise. Those foreigners are related to the dragon. Earlier, when I went to investigate, I met them at the hotel; we shook hands, and I perceived their scents. When we reached the scene, their scents were all over the forest as well. What were they doing at the forest campsite? "And how comes the forest had never burned for fifty years but did so on their first arrival?" he asked them, and silence prevailed, and they all nodded in agreement.

"Make sure you don't fall for her charms, son." His mother said worriedly, "You should start investigating them soon."

"Of course, mom, but today evening I'll be interrogating one of our pack members." Harriet Huds was with them last night. "She must know something." He said this and rose to go to his rooms. He was going to collect flowers since he was visiting his twins' grave.

As they all made to leave, a young girl barged through the doors, breathing heavily, "Alpha Rasmore, you should hear this." The foreigners.." She inhaled keeping quiet.

"Speak!" Alpha Cameroon and Rasmore yelled at the same time.

"Only two of them are foreigners. Maris Kates is not a foreigner. She is Karen Milburn in disguise. Right now, as I am speaking, they are heading to the private cemetery, where she is going to celebrate her twins' fourth birthday. I also know something. "She is here to avenge her twins' and parents' deaths," she said, and everyone froze.
