Chapter 5 Sara

Chapter 5 Sara

SARA' POV

He raised a corner of his lips and answered, "Your one and only mate and your nightmare."

Mate? What was he talking about? I was in oblivion of what was going on. All my brain kept screaming was, I was with a monster. Do monsters exist? Well, that has been my question and I would only laugh about it cause that was just people's ideas.

But right now, I need no scientist to explain what was going on to me. I was standing right in front of one. I had woken up some minutes ago and all I did was think.

Thinking of a way to escape. I was only in my undies and I knew the pervert must have pulled my gown, although he didn't touch me. As long as I was in the same house with him, he would harm me.

While speaking to him, I secretly looked around the house, trying to find a way to escape. I would be gone before he knew it, but I needed to act calm and smart before he found out about my plan.

I curled the corners of my lips into a smile that was nothing but fake and in no time, I felt my cheeks straining. "Can I get something to eat? I am really hungry?" I asked and rubbed my stomach.

He stared at me for a while and I thought he was reading deep into my soul, trying to find what I was planning. I swallowed hard, trying my best to maintain eye contact even though my twitching eyes showed me out and my cheeks were beginning to hurt.

"You can have whatever you want." He grumbled and walked up the stairs to where I stood.

Standing before me, he grabbed my chin in his large hand and raised my face so I could look at him. "You shouldn't try anything funny 'cause what would happen next would be no joke."

I swallowed hard, trying to act unaffected by him, but it wasn't working.

"I am not planning anything." I laughed nervously and immediately realized how stupid I was.

I just assured him that I was planning something. His fingers around my chin tightened, causing a gasp to all out of my lips. He drew closer until I could feel his breath on my cheek.

"Don't you dare try to escape? You won't be able to. No matter where you go in this world, I will come after you. I'll find you. There is no one I can't find within hours." He said in a low, almost calm voice, but each word carried the danger of what might happen if I dared go against his rule.

My heart leaped up to my mouth and dropped back immediately. Even though it doesn't sound like a threat, it did sound like one to me.

I unconsciously nodded and he moved back with a lopsided smile, not taking his gaze away from me. He was like a possessive maniac when we first met, then suddenly, he switched to being an aggressive lion and then, he was back to being a bad boy. So many of him in less than forty-eight hours.

He let go of me and without waiting another second I ran off to my room, going away from the beast. I locked the door and slipped to the ground, resting my back against the door while his words kept echoing in my ears.

Well, I was planning on making sure he never finds me. I will escape to a place he would never know. A small remote away, far away from the country and away from the city.

I wasn't planning on letting his words stop me from leaving. I make my own decision and he has no right to tell me what to do.

With a renewed conviction, I stayed in the room, waiting for the time I would execute my plan of escape.

I waited and waited until evening fall. I walked to the window and looked down to be sure no one was watching me.

Having made my little investigation, I let down the escape rope I made. It was a stack of clothes I found in the wardrobe and made into a long rope.

The door was locked so no one would barge into the room. I took a deep breath before I climbed down. The house was dark as all the lights were off. Everyone was asleep. The perfect timing.

Immediately my feet met the ground, and I ran off without waiting another second. I ran off, heading for my freedom.

I ran into the woods, running as fast as my leg could carry me. I needed to get as far as I could and away from the monster. With every pace, I could feel him getting closer.

Was he really behind me? That familiar feeling when I was with him, the feeling of intimidation, the strong and cold aura around him was so strong and that brought about my conclusion of him being behind me.

The only sound I could hear was the whistling sound of the wind, my naked feet stepping on dry leaves, my heavy breathing, and probably the sound of my heartbeat.

None of those mattered when I knew real danger was right behind me.

I had no idea where I was running to, as long as it would give me safety, I would gladly run anywhere. Well, not until I found out I was running towards the edge of a cliff. Luckily for me, I was able to see the edge even in the dark and stopped. That was a close one.

With my heart throbbing fast, I bent a bit and placed my hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath. I knew I had less time to escape but I really needed some air or I might collapse and then he would take me back to that devil's house.

A cold breeze blew on my exposed skin and the hairs on my body rose when I felt a presence behind me. Someone was there. The thought of who it might be, made my heart seize beating.

Was it too late to hope for it not to be him?

The sound of stepping on dry raves filled my ears, drawing closer until it stopped a few feet from me. I shakily stood up and slowly turned around to face my doom. To face my fear.

I was right after all, I was doomed!

"What did I say about escaping, Sara?" His deep, tenor voice, resounded in my ears and the world around me halted, paving the way for my soon death.

He was right in front of me. The monster.
