I parked two blocks from her father’s house, turned off my engine, lights off. The street was quiet.
A minute later the passenger door opened and Iris slid in. The second the door shut her scent filled the car, familiar, warm, undercut with something restless. My hands tightened on the wheel.
“Let's go,” she said softly.
