Chloe's POV 

For a split second Dale went completely still, like he hadn’t expected it. Then his mouth opened under mine and he kissed me back.

His lips were warm and careful, then of his hands came up, fingers sliding into the hair at the nape of my neck, tilting my head just enough to deepen the angle. The soft sound he made against my mouth sent a jolt straight through me. I felt him lean further across the console, the solid heat of his chest pressing closer. His other hand settled on my waist, thumb brushing the strip of skin where my shirt had ridden up.
