At first, everything looked exactly the way it should.
Charts organized by date.
Medical devices neatly arranged.
Heart-rate monitors blinking steady little lights.
Clipboards filled with my handwriting, precise, controlled, professional.
And then there was Zavian.
Sitting in the chair across from me like any other research subject… except he wasn’t.
