Chloe’s pov

The thin walls of the house never stood a chance against the noise.

Every wet slap of skin hitting skin carried straight into my room, low and heavy, mixed with my mother’s soft broken moans and the deeper, rougher sounds coming from Roman.

I had been lying there for twenty minutes already, staring at the dark ceiling, legs pressed tight together while the mattress under me stayed too hot and the air stayed too thick. Sleep was not happening. Not with that soundtrack.
