Angela's POV

"Come on, guys, this party's dragging," I said, leaning back on the worn couch in the lounge, the dim light from the single bulb overhead casting long shadows across everyone's faces.

The air smelled like stale chips and spilled beer, with empty cans and half-eaten bowls of pretzels scattered on the coffee table.

It was late, way past midnight, and the buzz from earlier drinks had worn off into this lazy boredom.
