“It should stabilise him for the night, shouldn't it?” Amara muttered as we walked into the building. Darkness surrounded us as I gripped the baby tight, my eyes searching the clinic for any danger.

I was unharmed and for someone in the midst of traitors, that wasn't technically safe.

“Your gun,” I jerked the gun from Aiden's grip, pushing it down my pants. We finally reached the counter and the women had their eyes widened, searching us.

“We need help,” Aiden was the first to speak. “My wife just gave birth on the way and we need treatment.”
