Aiden walked in, his voice steady but urgent. “Corbito’s men are coming. They’re almost here.”
I turned to him slowly, still holding the blood-stained dagger. Behind me, Corbito was slumped in the chair, half-conscious, half-smiling. The moment he heard Aiden, his lips curled into a smug grin.
