“Her condition is critical,” the doctor barely settled as he spoke. He grabbed the same set of files I had just filled, “there are signs of internal damage. Tell me, what happened to her before this?”

I blinked as my heart raced while my mind struggled not to think the worst about Elira's situation. She couldn't be that in danger right?
