The park was like a graveyard. One that held forgotten things.

I could hear it's rusted swings creaking in the evening breeze and the air heavy with the stink of decay and damp earth.

I stepped out of my car, my boots crunching on broken glass as my heart thudding with unease.

Grandfather’s text had been vague as fuck. All it had was an address — which was supposed to be this desolate stretch of nowhere by the way — and a time.

No explanation or anything. I’d seen him pull stunts like this before, dragging me to witness some poor soul’s torture to “toughen me up.”
