Aiden's POV
With the space in between the bars, I found the woman I loved— the only woman that mattered to me— barely conscious while blood oozed from her legs. Her mouth was driven into her knee, an attempt to muffle her agony.
As soon as she sensed me, she raised her head, her face squeezed, a sharp cry of agony escaping her mouth.
“Are you okay?”
My question was useless because as soon as I ran my eyes over her, it settled on her leg. Her trapped leg— the reason for her cry and the reason for the blood pooling at our feet.
