The door to the private suite was barely open. I pushed it open slowly, my mind still ringing with Corbito’s vile accusations, and walked into Sierra’s room.
The room was bathed in the soft afternoon light, and I immediately saw her. Sierra was standing by the window, her back to me, clearly on the phone.
I stopped just inside the doorway, not announcing my presence. I only heard a few fragments of her conversation, but they were jarring.
