The ride to the Grandfather’s secluded estate was smooth, thanks to Renzo and Neran.

I had insisted on taking my cousins, along with Nico as the designated driver.

I needed them not because I required their questionable fighting skills considering I had a gun, my sharp wit, and the newly acquired, wicked Matteo’s dagger….but because….well….

Grandfather was one hell of an unpredictable creature and so, with these big guys as my font, he'd try to consider me anyway.

I could only hope things went according to plan. Otherwise…. Nope. I've got to be positive.
