Dora felt a pang of pain in her heart, she thought she had finally escaped from this torture, in the pack, every single kind of abuse was carried out on her by the pack members.
To them, she was just a usable tool at their disposal and they would treat her as they liked, resistance meant constant beating and not given food to eat for days.
Was her life still going to be the same hell as it was in that damn pack? Dora wondered feeling the surge of tears that threatened to spill, she hated being weak, she wanted to be strong and fight back too, why did the moon goddess give her such fate.
Maverick had a smile at the corner of his mouth when he saw the resistance etching on Dora's face, he felt impressed as his original impression of Dora might have been wrong, but his mood went downhill when he saw her reach for her button.
Dora's hands shook as she undid the first button of her t shirt, biting her lips in order to restrain the tears that threatened to spill out of her eyes, unknown to her, her actions made Maverick extremely displeased.
By the time Dora's shirt drop to the ground, the look on Maverick's face was grim as he stared at Dora who had her eyes tightly shut together, she hoped for it to be over as soon as it started, one might wonder why Dora is scared of death despite living a hellish life, but every single time she had tried to take her life, there was always something stopping her, she always wondered if by the time she died, her parents would regret their actions and start to miss her, she didn't want to cause them that pain, or maybe it was just an excuse for her to keep her life.
After what seemed like 5 minutes, Dora noticed that there was no movement neither was there any noise, surprised she opened up her eyes to see Maverick staring at her intently like he was trying to see through her, she had totally forgotten about her scars!
Embarrassed, Dora lowered her head in shame, the body is a beautiful painting, but her's has been torn to pieces and was damaged beyond repair.
"Where are you from?" Maverick asked with both fury and disbelief dancing in his eyes, he could not believe someone would treat a woman as such, could it be the auction people?
Even though Dora hated that pack to the core, humans learning about the existence of werewolves would definitely lead to a lot of bloodshed and a lot of innocent lives will be taken in the process.
"I can't remember." Dora muttered underneath her breath, her heart aches at the fact that she was lying for the same pack that maltreated her, but it had to be done for the sake of others.
"Speak up!" Maverick ordered yelling, as he was filled with rage, Dora flinched at the sound of his voice taking in a deep breath to calm her nerves, "I can't remember." She repeated herself again, only this time it was louder than before.
Hearing her say those words, Maverick sighed and massaged his forehead, for a while, "You can leave now." He ordered and Dora immediately picked up her shirt and sprinted away, grateful to the moon goddess for helping her out of the situation.
After Dora left, Maverick stood up and went up the flight of stairs going into a room, heading towards the freezer in the room, just as he was about to open it, his cell phone rang and he creased his brows wondering what the call is all about.
"Boss, we need help!" A man yelled through the phone speaker as he panted, it was obvious that he had just done something that took a huge toll on him.
"What's wrong?" Maverick asked in a calm and collected voice.
"Our men where ambushed by the other gang in the city, despite the fact we changed the routes we were meant to originally pass before." The subordinate explained as sounds of gunshot travelled into the room through the phone speaker.
Maverick hearing the man's words frowned with a murderous look on his face, in a flash his eyes turned bright red before dying back down.
"I'll be there soon, tell the men to hang on." Maverick stated with a cold gaze, hanging up the phone and stood like he was contemplating something.
After what seemed like a while, Maverick opened up the fridge wide, revealing a huge stack of blood stored in blood bags.
He reached out and took one, tearing the blood bag open, drinking the blood hungrily, when he was finally done he threw the bag into the bin close by.
Some blood that escaped from his mouth dripped from his chin unto the floor, Maverick make use of his tongue to lick up his running food.
"Now it's time to take some hot meal." Maverick to himself with a toothy smile revealing a pair of fangs, without any other delay, he scouted towards the window side and jumped down without any hesitation.
Maverick slipped into a car and zoomed off at an high speed towards the location his gang members had been caught in a cross fire.
His hands tightened on the steering wheel when he thought of the possibility of a traitor being in his crew.
Meanwhile at the crossfire, Maverick's gang was at a loss as they had been caught unaware and were not that prepared, to top it all up, the enemy had well equipped weapons with them.
The mission leader spotted one of the gang members at a spot that was not really safe to stay, the leader quickly rushed out of his hiding spot, towards the member with the intention to save him.
Unknown to the leader, a sniper up ahead was already in place waiting for him to move away from the blockade, just as the sniper pulled the trigger with the leader's head as it's target, a black car swerved into the scene making a circle drift on the floor, blocking the fired bullet in the process.
The gang members breathed a sigh of relief, their boss was here at last.
