Cleopatra slowly lifted her head from Calvin’s chest, her smile light and teasing as she looked up at him, eyes bright with mischief.
“Let’s play in the water,” she said softly.
Before he could answer, she suddenly shifted back, laughter slipping from her lips as she scooped a handful of water and splashed it straight at him, quick and playful like a child chasing joy in the sunlight.
The splash caught Calvin off guard, droplets scattering across his face and sliding down his jaw. For a moment he only blinked, stunned then a slow, dangerous smile curled at the corner of his lips.
