Nancy
My body immediately reacted, and I could feel a certain heat travel through my body, tingling my spine. Even though the man was at arm's length from me, and his hand was not touching me in any way, his body heat was enough to make me aware of a powerful being behind me.
He picked up the slice and walked over to his desk, placing one of his hips on the surface and saying, "So what flavor you said it was?" As I turned towards him, I peered into a set of dark metallic grey eyes belonging to an extraordinarily attractive man. His deep voice rumbled, causing my breath to catch in my throat. In the event that I referred to the man, what was his name? Yes, Jakes! Was a good-looking man, then this one was a complete devil; he had lush deep brown hair cut into a sophisticated undercut with buzzed sides and a more extended crown area; he had a 2 mm beard with a shaved neck; it was gorgeously styled; his aquiline nose looked so noble on his face; and he was
dressed in a navy blue satin shirt with the top two buttons undone, which exposed his hairy chest. The sleeves of the shirt were pulled up, displaying his muscular, manly, and hairy hands. His suit pants and shirt were tailored and excellently traced his body; his shoes signified elegance and extravagance. His entire demeanor gave off the impression that he had an abundance of wealth.
But what fascinated me and frightened me at the same time were his eyes; his metallic grey eyes were executing such heat that, if it were possible, they would melt a soul, I couldn't move my eyes away from his, and my voice was locked in my throat, he was the kind of man who would destroy you mentally and emotionally, I remembered never to give someone such power, so I got hold of my running thoughts and responded with "Magical Ben" topped with Mozzarella, cheddar, and pepperoni. Oh, she named it after Ben? I think it's the same flavor Ben liked a lot; Jakes said while eating. I was surprised to hear Ben's name from his mouth and wondered how he knew aunt Catherine's son. Did they know aunt Catherine as well? So I asked Jakes thankfully, turning towards him as asking and looking at the other one was getting difficult for me, "you know Ben?"
Yes, we know the enigma continued instead; Ben was our childhood friend, we have known Aunt Catherine for a long time, even enjoyed other things cooked by her, and her kitchen garden was beautiful. Jakes, me, and Ben used to sit there for hours playing, talking, and fooling around; we even planted a few herbs there. We even planned about the day we were going to sign a contract with him where he would be supplying us with food from his restaurant, which he wanted to open with his mother one day; he was also going to open a training centre where aunt Catherine would be taking cooking classes and training chefs for the restaurant. I had no choice but to face him while he spoke since it struck me as impolite to do otherwise, but luckily Jake continued, and I was spared from having to gaze back into those eyes again.
Jakes continued to make jokes as he said, "this rascal used to go there for food and drag me along; you wouldn't have recognized him if you would have seen him then; he was so healthy and innocent, now look at him, he drives the shit out of people with just one look." Jakes was laughing as he said this.
It was completely accurate; he possessed a manner that was commanding and threatening. I could feel my back burning as if someone was eyeing me, and when I looked at him, I found him staring at me with some expression in his eyes. I flinched inwardly under his scrutiny, and then all of a sudden, he got up, went back to his desk, and sat down in his chain. After lighting his cigar, he took a puff and asked in his deep voice, "what did you say your name was?" I could feel a chill go down my spine as he talked; he may be Johnson, as Jakes was the one with chocolate brown eyes and didn't have that scary aura surrounding him; an aura that pulls attention on you; so, I spoke to him in a hushed voice and said, Nancy, I felt his eyes darken for a moment when I spoke again, clearing my throat Nancy Anderson, but I brushed the thought aside because I might be imagining things. Why would an enigma like Johnson, who could have had any woman at the snap of his finger, have any interest in a girl who wears an oversized jacket and delivers pizza? He could have any woman at the snap of his finger. My hands were at peace, but I couldn't help but feel apprehensive because of his unrelenting gaze.
My nervousness subsided with Jakes's soothing voice, Nancy, why don't you sit down as we are about to make a decision. I smiled pleasantly at him and settled down in a chair beside him; he continued, "we were well aware that aunt Catherine makes terrific pizzas, and we would like to appoint her team to supply us daily with pizzas for our cafeteria, isn't it, Johnson? Jakes asked his partner.
Johnson continued to stare at me with those eerie grey eyes, and I wanted to scream at him to, "please stop staring at me with those eyes of yours; you are giving me the creeps." After what seemed like an eternity, he turned his attention to the world outside the window, took a deep drag from his cigar, and eventually said, "No." I couldn't believe that someone would turn down meals prepared by Aunt Catherine. Jakes was clearly taken aback by this information, and his facial expression reflected his
confusion. I was about to let him have it, but then he said, "I want aunt Catherine and her crew to start working here in the cafeteria and produce all types of meals for our firm." That statement stopped me in my tracks. I wanted to give him a piece of my mind. I couldn't help but feel glad for aunt Catherine, but where did that leave me? I realized that if this happened, my employment might be in jeopardy. I questioned him further and asked, "So she would be providing food solely for your staff?" He proceeded by staring at me for a significantly longer period of time before saying, "the cafeteria belongs to us, but other firms in this building have access to it, and at lunchtime, people come up to eat food. We are going to convene a meeting with other owners and determine a menu." Aunt Catherine is really talented in the kitchen and can make anything. In this way, she will have contracts with a number of firms and earn a very good living; in the not-too-distant future, she will be able to build her own restaurant, just as her son's goal was when he was younger.
This made my heart swell with respect for this man since he was so kind and modest toward Aunt Catherine. There is no question that Jakes was correct; he may have been Aunt Catherine's favorite for a reason. I gave them a kind grin before rising slowly from my seat and commenting in a reassuring tone, "That's really nice of you, I would notify Aunt Catherine about your offer, or you might like to break it to her by yourself?" When I anxiously licked my lips, his eyes landed on them, and when we established eye contact again, I noticed that he had an intense look in his eyes—could it have been lust? He added while leaning back in his chair, "I will be meeting you tomorrow and will tell aunt Catherine the specifics." I gave him a brief smile before turning around to go, wondering to myself, why would he see me now? Aunt Catherine would no longer want a delivery lady. Jakes rose up and was polite enough to open the door for me. He then remarked, "see you tomorrow, deep eyes." This caused me to glance up at him, and it brought a grin to my face; getting along with him was quite easy.
