There was no way in hell that I was going to believe what this guy was saying to me. I knew for a fact that Bain had been with me throughout my heat, locked in the bunker downstairs, so he couldn’t have possibly been the guy that attack those betas. With a sense of smugness, I addressed the officer,

“When was he supposed to have attacked these people?”

“Three days ago…”

I didn’t even allow him to continue and jumped into defense mode.

“Well, you have the wrong man. Bain was with me three days ago, seeing me through my heat and becoming my mate.”
