Her eyes widened in disbelief, and to further aggravate her, I nonchalantly grabbed at the mug of coffee on the table.

"Cheers, Harley," I smirked and took a sip.

Her gaze was on me, as I placed the mug back on the table. Curiously watching me.

"Common, you don't have to do that. I'm not a weird specimen of study, neither am I a guinea pig." I shrugged in a bid to show her that I wasn't a bit bothered by the unnerving and stifling air around us.

"Shouldn't you be preparing for the pack run? Kathy told me you fell down the stairs.." She finally broke the silence....
