Mike was surprised yet hurt.

"You... you're pregnant?"

He saw her eyes cloud up with tears, and then, without a word, she rushed out of the building and onto the streets.

"Beverly!" He called her name for the first time but she didn't stop, she kept running and consequently didn't look before crossing the street.

Fortunately, his training skills over the months came in use and he caught up with her at the nick of time. He pulled her forward, causing both of them to fall backward, and with her pregnancy in mind, he shielded her by making her fall on him instead.

The blaring horns of the car died...
