I asked him not to kill her, I just can’t bear the thought of it. Her death would weigh me down, it will gnaw at my conscience and make me feel guilty for the rest of my life. I can’t have her blood on my hands, and I don’t want Maverick to be seen as a no later either. I don’t know if she had seen his face, but I’m sure he is used to handling situations such as this.
