“The other Alpha who thinks I owe him my life.” I replied to Zac.

“Your boyfriend?” He asked, looking a bit confused.

“Zac, right now, he's just somebody I used to know.” I replied to him.

“I understand that.” Zac nodded. “Want to talk about it?”

“No, no.” I said quickly. My relationship with Adrian was slowly becoming a nightmare.

My phone rang a second time.

“Hey.” I said, picking it up.

“You said you were gonna be home by 8.” Adrian's cold voice sounded over the phone.

“Yeah, I couldn't make it back.” I squeaked, clearing my throat.
