Emily’s POV

“Hey gorgeous.” The caller on the other side chirped.

It was 7 am, Saturday morning, too dang early for prank calls.

“I think you have the wrong number.” I said, trying to dislodge whoever it was before the sleep fled from my eyes.

“Hey, Emily.” He said instead. “It's Adrian.”

My blood froze.

“Hello Adrian.” I said and turned to lie in a position where it'd be better for him to hear my weak and tired voice.

“Hello Princess.” He replied. “I wanted my voice to be the first thing you hear this morning.”
