Jace is still in his room because he knows that liana is avoiding him and he is also trying to avoid her as much as he can so that she doesn't feel uncomfortable around him. Earlier he clearly understood that she has been very uncomfortable hanging around him which makes her try to avoid him although he told her to stop avoiding him but obviously it's inevitable at this point because she keeps doing it.
